Spring has well and truly sprung and so have the flowers. This year, I decided to drag Kevin to the Royal Horticulture Show in Malvern on 9 May 2026.
We didn’t expect the show to be so huge and well organised. We went booth to booth enjoying the various breathtaking flowers (indoors and outdoors), garden designs, live floral display demonstration and various grand garden sculptures, giving us inspiration to create our own perfect garden.
This year, there’s a new RHS concept, which is the floral tablescaping category. Participants were to style the interior of a garden shed, including benches and a dining table, to create a captivating tablescape where blooms take centre stage. Here is my favourite with all the tea pots hanging up in the air which won a silver medal.
The show was also accompanied with lots of food trucks with delightful food. The place was crowded with lots of people out for a day with a perfect excuse for us to have 3 scoops of ice cream from Cornwall 😉
There were talks and demonstrations too. Besides watching the live demonstration of flower arrangement, we also managed to watch a live dessert demonstration by George Uren from PIT Kitchen. He had made a delicious rhubarb and strawberry crumble with toasted pearl barley which I managed to sample and it was unforgettable yummy!

We had our annual get-together lunch on 3 Jun at the Pembrokeshire college. On that morning, inspired by the Radio 2 DJ, some of us were dressed in Green – being spontaneous and being in the moment to have a fun day out. I really do appreciate the members attending this lunch and we had a lovely time getting to know each other better.
