Information Sheet for Members

After reading the Information below, scroll down to the Button which will direct you to the application form

Our name indicates that after the ‘first age’ of childhood and full-time education and the ‘second age’ of work and possibly raising a family, there comes the ‘third age’ of retirement. This is when people are free to get together to follow interests for which they may previously not had the time. Members of like minds and interests meet in small groups weekly or fortnightly in each other’s home or some other suitable venue.
Conceived at the University of Toulouse in 1972, the idea of a “University” for older folk has spread worldwide. Established in Great Britain in 1981 there are more than 900 local U3A’s with a total membership more than 300,000.
Each U3A is self-governing, selecting and managing its own programme in accordance with the wishes of its members.

WHO CAN JOIN?
